Cool I couldn't take it anymore!!

So I had been having so many problems with my shakes and such. Well one day I was dieing so bad for protein that I tried one of my other shakes that I thought would make things worse, but tried it anyway! Well, it didn't give me too much trouble! I was happy. Slowly things are getting much better now. Since then I have been able to do things that I put Splenda in myself, such as unflavored soy milk or plain yogurt. Popsicles are doing much better now as well. I tried a crystal light because I was so tired of just water, and it went ok. I also tried putting Lactaid milk into things and that helped as well. So now things are going much better.

Yesterday I was still dieing for protein so I tried a little tiny piece of roasted chicken. It went well! I was so happy. So I called my surgeon to ask if I can move to puree stage a little sooner and add chicken to it since that went ok for me. He cleared me for that. So today I had cream of wheat with lactaid milk in it and some yogurt for breakfast. For lunch I had some chicken, plain yogurt, and a little baby food sweet potato. It went well and I felt great after it as well. I actually felt the full feeling and was totally satisfied from it as well. It was the most wonderful feeling ever! And my food tasted amazing!

I am so excited and feel so much more energized about it. I also found that warm tea with lactaid milk in it helps me wind down at night.

I am so so happy with all of this! Yay! I just had to tell someone who might understand!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Glad you're doing better. Cocoa Wheats have lots of protein if you're looking for something different for breakfast. Special K has a protein packet you can add to water that has 5g protein per bottle. The flavors I've found are iced T, lemonade, and Strawberry/Kiwi. You may want to read the label on that baby food. It usually has high sugar content. If you like sweet potatoes or squash you can buy unsweetened winter squash at WalMart for 1.00. I add a little real butter, salt, pepper (& sometimes a little brown sugar Splenda) & that tastes pretty good. (Minimal protein though.)

Keep up the good work:-)

At week 3 my surgeon told me if I could run it through a blender I could eat it, keeping in mind the rules of protein first, veggies 2nd, anything else that fits 3rd. After 3 days of running real food through a blender, I decided to just chew chew chew my food to the consistency of soup and I did just fine after that. This is NOT a recommendation for anyone else to do this...I took did it at great risk and it should not be done without the surgeon's knowledge and guidance. (Like my disclaimer? )

It is a real relief to be able to eat savory flavors. At week 2 or so I was pouring Tapatio (a mexican form of tabasco) on my yogurt and cottage cheese, just to try to get the sweet out of my tastebuds.

The good news...the tastes all come back in a couple months.
