When did you start eating green salads. I love them and that is the only thing I really miss. I can't find anything in the info I was given about raw vegetables. What salad dressing do you use. I used a low fat one before but looking at it, it's loaded with sugars!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

My nut. said not to try lettuce ( not iceberg, total nutritional void) until 6 months out but I have had salad this past week and I was fine. I used lowfat dressing. The sugar content was only 2g.

I don't bother with salads even though I love them. There is no nutritional value to them and I feel it is taking up space in the pouch that could be better used for some straight protein.

Blue cheese and ranch are the lowest in sugars - something useful to remember when you're eating out.

I eat salads. Use baby spincah rather than lettuce as spinach has protein. If you "soup" up you salad you can get nuritional value. I make my own dressing so it's low fat & low sugar. An example of a typical salad for me is as follows:

fresh baby spinach
low fat mozz cheese
low fat colby jack cheese
tomatoes
boiled egg/chopped
thin sliced turkey, chicken, and ham
avacado
cukes

I mix everything together & place in an airtight container.

Dressing= low fat sour cream, low fat mayo, 1 packet ranch dressing mix, fat free milk or Silk, salt, cracked pepper corns, paprika, garlic/pressed

I also don't eat any iceberg lettuce but use spinach. I stay away from raw celery as my nutr. said the "stringy" part can't be digested well. I do not eat nearly as many salads as I used to, since I fill up quickly with protein there just is not room for salads. I use a salad spritzer or flavored vinegar for my dressing. I will sometimes put a few sunflower seeds in my salad along with the veggies.

I eat salads, have been for a few weeks. I only eat spinach salad with chicken, tomatoes, red onion and feta. I use balsamic vinegar as dressing. Sometimes I'll use a sour cream dressing.

I've gone through periods where I ate salads, always making sure to protein them up..but find that any kind of lettuce, even the spinach and I don't always get along. I use blue cheese or ranch..the low fat ones may have a low sugar COUNT..but the ingredients clearly show it loaded with sugars usually in the form of corn syrups. (which show a lower sugar content! it's so tricky!/sneaky!)

Also..I was disturbed by the amount of regular salad I could get down. It packs down so much that you can eat a lot more..which for eating OUT with others can be helpful on some levels to not get all the comments of "you didn't eat much, don't you want some more? or are you ok?".
