Default Tuna vs Salmon

Just curious if cost is the only reason people seem to recommend tuna so much instead of canned salmon, I can't stand tuna but salmon isn't to bad

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Salmon is higher in fat and lower in protein than tuna. Of course, salmon is fine if you can deal better with that than tuna.

Just made the salmon patties tonite for dinner for myself my dad and his g/f and everyone liked them, used RC's recipe

I buy the pink salmon (canned). I drain it and take all the bones out of it and then I add one beaten egg in the bowl with the salmon and some minced onion , salt and pepper, dash of garlic powder with approx. 1/4 cup of italian bread crumbs mix (comes from a can). You can add a little milk or tomato sauce to the mix if its too dry but usually I don't have that problem because of the salmon juices.
I warm up my frypan on medium to medium high, use Olive oil cooking spray on the pan with just a small amount of olive oil. Form a salmon patty in my hand and gently lay in the frypan, cook about 5 minutes on each side, or until its a nice golden brown. Turn it gently so it doesn't fall apart.
After I turn it once I drip a couple drops of lemon juice on the patty for that little extra flavor. My family just loves it cooked this way. Simple and little time or effort to prepare.

You can also look in the freezer section. We have found a brand at walmart that has individually packed salmon (fresh) in a big bag. This is as easy fix with the steamer bags or bake with lemon or which ever sauce you can handle.

it tastes MUCH better than the canned variety.

WOW that is way cool! I am glad you tried it and everybody liked it.
I like tuna but I love salmon. lol

I also make salmon loaf sometimes, alot like making beef meatloaf but using the canned salmon instead of beef.
Its good that way too.

The salmon patty recipe you can also do using tuna..I've done a recipe like that in the past and it's quite tasty! I'm very glad you posted it!

Oh, thanks for the idea! I know what I'm having for dinner.

I've always liked salmon patties but DH hates them. But he's working the night shift this week so I can fix them for me. Yummmm.
