| Low carb diets side effect
Hi everyone,
Now a days I'm trying to go to the 101 basics on my food and my exercise.
I'm almost on low carb diet (South Beach) but I have noticed that I don't feel well less energetic, have lots of foamies, headache (the type that associates with high blood pressure feeling) not my chronic migraine!
I have to admit my water intake is not as required!
Has anyone have the same kind of feeling?

Well i know from when i buckle down and watch my
carbs more in a ATKINS induction mode of carbs...
I get what me and my ATKIN peers call
THE ATKINS FLU!!! and its the withdrawals from
the bad foods...carbs, caffine, artificial sweetners
for most it last a few days to a week. I tend to get a
headache!
AS for your foramies if your not on a antiacid med i suggest
you take some TUMS! I know im on the prilosec OTC and boy
i dont get foamies like i used to...
I would say your just having a southbeach flu!
hugs
good luck!
ANOTHER side effect of lo carbing eating sometimes
can be brain fog!
love ya

Hanadi,
I know that BEFORE sugery when I went on Atkins, I felt TERRIBLE the first couple of weeks, so much so, that I started adding a few "good" carbs, such as veggies and fruit. I started feeling better and still lost about 20 pounds...of course I gained it all back and then some!

| Hey Chups!
Well, I can't speak for the foamies, cuz I have yet to experience those. HOPING TO NEVER HAVE THAT HAPPEN. As far as the low carb dieting. Yes, I can relate. I do more of the ATKINS as well. I, honestly, don't have as much energy either. Not as much as I thought I would have anyway. I am a real Nazi, though, when it comes to carbs. For example, I made thin sliced mock steaks with onions and mushrooms in last night for supper. Simmered until tender. I was going to have it over noodles. Well, I did take some on my plate. Well, what do you think went into the garbage? Yup, the noodles. I couldn't bring myself to eat them by reading the bags carbs. I know I have to eat more carbs though, but it is tough for me. I haven't gotten the headaches you have though. I am proud to announce that since my surgery, I have not had one headache. HONEST I used to get them a couple times a week in the back of my head and neck before my surgery. NOT ANY MORE, and I AM GLAD. Those were killers. Everyone's body reacts differently to stimuli of what new things we are trying, and you obviously are having some. HANG IN THERE CHUPS, you might end up changing a few of your new habits.

ITs something that occurs when you first start cutting them out. POSSIBLY why you dont have them now mike you proly had it early out from surgery and didnt notice the symptoms of the as i call ATKINS FLU!
but when you have had to many carbs in your eating and then turn them off you feel icky in many ways.
HUGS

| Well.....
Actually, Lisa, they were no yolk regulars. lol I got hooked on them when I had cholesterol problems. Don't ask me why. I have looked at the wheat ones, and boy a boy, there is a price difference. Yah, NOT ONLY AM I A CLEAN FREAK, I AM A PENNY PINCHER IN THE STORE AS WELL. I can't help myself. In my case, as I have stated, a few extra carbs. are not going to hurt me. GETTING THAT THROUGH MY HEAD IS A DIFFERENT STORY. I went to the dr. with my daughter today as she had a checkup with her blood pressure and weight ordeal at the tender age of almost 14. I asked the nurse after she weighed my daughter, if I could get on. She said go right ahead. SO, WITHOUT FURTHER ADOO, I DID. I almost died, not literally, but was very shocked, and not in a good way. The scale said 140.2#. My surgeon told me that the lowest to go should be 142#. I know it doesnt sound that bad, but I was shocked. So, in a nutshell, I am forced now to increase carbs. I was talking to L.L.Marie this morning, and she said to see where I can fit in another small meal throughout the day. I thought that sounded like a plan. I have to do something, right?
That makes sense though, with the carbs. THANKS A BUNCH, LISA.
