| Milk
My nut has me drinking 2 cups of milk a day. I fortify it with dry milk to increase my protein, but it makes my stomach rumble and makes me feel ucky. I have even tried soy milk and the same thing. Anyone else have this happen?
Thanks

I could never tolerate milk well but do well with yogurt or cottage cheese.
Chobani Greek Yogurt has a ton of protein.
Also Friendship
cottage cheese= lots of protein per serving... (but the no salt type tastes yucky; I had to put salt on it to eat it.)
You have to get the protein IN somehow.
Good luck.

I have done better with milk since surgery than I did before surgery, but I do experience an uncomfortable feeling and serious grumbling when I try to add extra powdered milk to it. Evidently I can't tolerate it stronger.

I can do cheese and greek yogurt, but I can NOT do milk anymore. Even for my protein shakes I have to sub with soy milk. Even then, however, I keep it to 8 ounces or less. Never had problems with milk before surgery.
Wish I had some better advice for you.... good luck!

I do good with all dairy products but milk, I never liked milk so so long milk. I just need to make sure I get enough protein from other sources.
Thanks everyone!

Does your nut want you to get the calcium or protein from milk? If it is the calcium, then make sure you're taking enough supplements. If it is the protein, then add more protein packed items (besides milk).
Three servings of milk products are recommended in a normal diet. This includes cheese & yogurt. I love milk, but somedays I just don't get enough. It would be interesting to know if she is following a regular diet, or if something showed up in your labs.

Now me I love milk. I loved it before and after I had a little grumble from the tummy but I did continue to try to drink what I could. For the calcium and the protein in it. I do dairy all types well. I dont like soy yuck! Honey do what you can tolerate but rememeber you have to supplement what your giving up with the milk ok.

I feel like if it weren't for milk I would never be able to make my protein goal or be able to take in sufficient calories (so my body doesn't go into starvation mode)! But I was always a big milk drinker....and lucky for me it still agrees with my pouch!
Good luck! I couldn't imagine life without my leche!
