Question What's your favorite kitchen tool?

The small appliance I use the most is our crock pot. After twenty years, though, our old 6-quart Rival quit working on "High" yesterday. (It took forever to do that pork roast with pineapple yesterday) I'll miss it! Now I have to get a new one. (Any recommendations or types to avoid?)

For my favorite tool, that'd be a tossup between a good set of knives or pots. I worked in food service many years ago in college and got used to good knives. The ones I have aren't anything fancy, no designer labels or Iron Chef recommendations here. I get mine at Sam's Club back in the restaurant section. Textured white plastic handles, good steel and they hold an edge. Also there's nowhere for bacteria to hide if you wash them right. They don't need any special treatment or handling like my sister's fancy knives do, just wash them and stick them in their block. Good enough for a restaurant, good enough for me.

A couple of years ago I did a little side job and was given a bit of money for it, so I replaced our 35 year old Revere Wear pots and pans. Got a nice set of T-Fal stainless (with copper bottoms) pans and gave the old stuff to a newlywed niece. I bought these on Amazon. They have made a huge difference in cooking around here!! Highly recommended!!!

So what do you use the most in your kitchen to support the new way you eat?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I love my crockpot!! And I love my blender (to make smoothies).

Ok, so... I am curious about the pineapple pot roast. How about a recipe?

My favorite Kitchen tools are my food network Iron Chef America Chef knives! I am a real foody and just love to cook (even though I hated culinary school!) There's nothing like a great knife to make you feel powerful! I also adore the pots & pans from that collection to!!

Love my crockpot. The old one never made it when we moved. It was so old I couldn't believe anyone would want it.
I got a bigger one at Home Depot..think it is a Rivel again. The crock comes out and it is bigger. WOuld still have the old one if it didn't disappear.
I love my steamer.
I am going to experiment with a fish poacher. It was my mom's. Now it is my turn.
I don't use my processor much but love it when i do use it... simplifies a few things.
