| Super Moderator  | Ladyhawk, you must ask your endocrinologist this Q. Many do get off insulin, almost immediately post op, but that doesn't mean everyone does. Basically, your sugar level will need to be monitored, and the dosage adjusted accordingly until you are completely off, or your dosage levels off to a new amount. Get the adjusting schedule e.g. how much insulin for what blood sugar level from your endocrinologist. No one else can answer this Q for you.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Thanks. I really knew that my doc would handle that, I guess I didn't word it correctly. Just really wanted to hear from anyone who used insulin prior to the surgery and how it went for them. Just a little concerned about the balancing of it all.
