| What are your 'go-to' proteins?
I'm re-focusing on getting my protein in and I've found in the past that it helps to have a list of 'go to' proteins, especially to have at work or on the run. Some of my least successful days are when i don't start my day with a plan.
So.....what are your best protein sources?
Mine for day in/day out are:
Deli turkey or lean ham
Sliced cheese or cheese sticks
Greek yogurt
Hard boiled egg
Cottage cheese
I'd love to hear other ideas!

My main go to protein is protein bars, they are so tasty and have 19 to 20 gms of protein in them or liquid protein from the GNC store.

Mine are basically the same as yours except I add the Morning Star Grillers...they are 17g of protein for one patty.

| EAS cholate protein drink every morning. 17 grams.
then thru out the day I will do the following.
Yogurt, I don't like the greek style so I just do the cheap generic yogurt
cheese of all kinds, find what you like and keep some on hand. Cheese and crackers are good.
Cottage cheese
hard boiled eggs, scrambled. they heat up well
Meat, Meat, Meat. any kind I can get my hands on. usually left overs from dinner the night before.
shrimp, tuna.
You can get packets of tuna that are ok . Not the best taste, but convienent.
I just do alot of left overs.
I love meat so I usually don;t have a problem getting the protein in. |

Cottage cheese
Tuna or some kind of fish 3x week
Eggs
I buy about one rottiserre chicken every 7-10 days. I pull all the meat off of it, plus the skin. Sautee 1/2 small onion, add 2 cups low sodium chick broth, 2 cups water, one can rotel tomatoes, a can of black beans (drained), a cup or so of frozen corn and simmer for 30 minutes. Add the chicken and simmer another 10 or so. This soup is wonderful and has lots of protein with the chicken and beans. LOVE IT
I eat a fair amount of baked beans also for the protein.
I too am trying to focus on protein, and not drinking with meals. I'm getting back into the carb thing at the moment, which I tend to begin to crave.

I think I will try your soup recipe. I am having a horrible time getting in my protein, or eating period. It seems like everything I eat is making me nauseous - so I don't want to eat. It's getting extremely frustrating because I am always weak and tired. But I have to do something...thanks for the receipe!
