Default Suggestions for Protien Shake Stage of Post-Op Surgery?

HELP! I am 12 days out of surgery and am having trouble drinking the protein shakes. I am so sick of the shakes and so when it is time to drink them my stomach seems to rebel. I have 5 more days until I can add soft foods and some variety. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get these protein shakes better? I use the Bariatrix Essentials by Metagenix and I have tried another brand recommended by my doctor and it did not sit well. Please help me since I went from being able to drink 5-6 a day to drinking 3-4 the past 2 days and I know I need more. If you know of some other brands that maybe I can buy in the store that work, I would be grateful.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I mix the protein in with my pudding. You can put in as much as 4 scoops and it still tastes delicious. Just put in an extra 1/2 cup of milk (i use soy). That's all I've found so far.

You can do any protein drink that you want. It is all in what you like. I would go to Target, Walmart, and GNC and just get the premixed ones, they come in packs of four or even individual. That way you can try several and find out what you like. I prefer the pre mixed ones, I think that they taste better then the powder. The very best one that I found is Pure Protein pre mixed - but I have not found them around my house. I bought them when on vacation at my best friends house in Alabama.
I just bought a 4 pack of ensure high protein and it was actually good. Expensive but good.
I only drink one a day so, I try and justify the cost that way. LOL

I agree the Ensure is great tasting and yes, I agree it is expensive. But I have tried many others and Ensure is actually one I do not get disgusted by. So I think it's worth the money. Plus, (and I apologize if it's TMI) Ensure has made me regular. A peoblwm I have had since surgery.

Just make sure the premixed ones are low on sugar.
You can make your own as well.
Check out our Gastric Bypass Recipes - Weight Loss Surgery Forums - RenewedReflections section, especially the stickies at the top.
Also check out Vitamins and Nutrition - Weight Loss Surgery Forums - RenewedReflections , again start with the stickies, and also look for suggestions on protein powders and such.
