Default Day 6 post op what to eat?

This food thing has me all confused. I started my protein shakes today and yogurt. My question is can I have Jello and cream soups. I remember my nutrisonist said I could but I don't remember when and it's not listed on my diet plan. I sent an e-mail to her but it's the weekend so if someone can help it would be great...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I was allowed to have Jello and creamed soup after surgery. It was nice to have something hot occasionally.

SF jello is fine but I don't know about the cream soups. Each doctor has a different plan. I was on clear liquid and protein shakes for 4 weeks. Going back to cream soups is not an option for me because I stay away from milk products. When I was still on liquids I had a lot of homemade chicken broth and sf popsicles. If you can have yogurt then you could probably have cottage cheese also. Hugs

I left the hospital on cream soups, be sure and strain if it has pieces of anything in it like chicken or celery. SF jello is fine too.

I don't recall ever eating creamed soup; I bought cream of tomato, indiviudal size, heatable in the microwave, then I saw the sugar content and was afraid. SO HIGH>
I had surgery in cold weather (Jan.) and I did enjoy warm/ hot drinks.. you can drink jello hot, just make it and drink it then... very satisfying. CHicken broth from the can,
Progresso or Campbels, yummy. I guess that is because of the salt, but sodium hasn't been an issue for me, so I enjoyed it a few times.

Good luck. Each day it will get better and you will have more choices.

My hubby was able to have sf jello and creamed soups (fat free) right after surgery. I thinned them out for him a little though and used water instead of milk because he developed lactose intolerance after his surgery. I also gave him the progresso soups (no noodles or meat) and he was able to tolerate the carrots because they pretty much turn to mush in your mouth. I bought him organic broth (it was a disgusting waste of money, lol) and i agree with the other poster about using either campbells or progresso broth because it has a better flavor. With that said, his main source of food was/is thru protein drinks. Make sure you are getting your protein, its soooo important.

Wow I wish I was able to get that list, and on day five post op and only clear liquids. The worst thing is coming home the day before Thanksgiving was everyone in the Condos around me were really cooking it up. I did have a cup of celebratory chicken broth, and I pretended it was turkey. It's bad when you look forward to chewing chewable vitamins because you haven't chewed anything in a while.
