starting on monday i can have yogourt, and sugar free pudding, but all the pudding i've found has sucralose in it, which i've been told i cant have. so mom and i got birds custard powder, where u can add sugar, so i got splenda, is that the same as pudding? is it ok to have it?
bird's - custard powder - original flavour
Ingredients: CORN STARCH, SALT, COLOUR (CONTAINS TARTRAZINE), ARTIFICIAL FLAVOUR

I grew up on Bird's Custard. I love it!! When we were first married, we lived just south of Seattle and we'd make runs back home to Vancouver just to stock up on it. Even after we'd moved 1000 miles away, every time we'd head home to see the folks, we'd save room for a dozen cans of it. It was great poured over a big piece of fresh hot-from-the-oven chocolate cake!! (See my starting weight for proof!! )
This can be a very acceptable pudding substitute. Of course, that's a generic statement, with which your pouch may or may not agree. Give it a try and see if she approves. Here is a recipe for a sugar-free vanilla pudding made from scratch. Looks an awful lot like the contents of the custard to me. Maybe you could play with this and see if you can come up with something you like?

Starch is basically complex sugar--your pouch might not be agreeable this early out.
The puddings I used make were basically just milk, eggs and a dash of sugar (Splenda if you will) and vanilla, stir till smooth, strain, pour into small containers, then steam. Haven't done this in ages, but I don't remember adding anything else...

Ingredients: CORN STARCH, SALT, COLOUR (CONTAINS TARTRAZINE), ARTIFICIAL FLAVOUR | Splenda = sucralose = Splenda... So, if you can have Splenda you can have sucralose. SUCROSE is what you want to avoid as that's sugar.
