Question new to the forum...need help

well im new here and just had gastric bypass. im not sure if im asking in the right place, but its been 2 days since my surgery and i had a new bottle of protein powder i bought from gnc, which i have tried to mix it into tea, which didnt work for me, tried it in sugar free low fat milk and it tasted horrible. the powder is unflavored which is what id like, i guess i'll have to find me another kind, though a good question is, is there any protein powder that can be mixed in well with foods? thanks all

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I use Six Star from Walmart ($18 a tub). I was using the triple chocolate flavor, but was limited on what I could do with it. Yesterday I started using the vanilla cream flavor. I added a scoop to my sugar free caramel cappuccino this morning, and blended it up...........mmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm!!!

I hope you find a protein powder you like - since your surgery was just a few days ago, I don't think you'll be putting it on food any time soon.

i use EAS from BJ's you can probably find it at other stores, i mix 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, each scoop is 23 grams of protein, 1/2 banana, a few strawberries or blueberries, a few cubes of ice and blend in blender, you can add the protein shake to ur decaff coffee, rememebr its all protein diet , so try to get in mostly protein first the vegetables and fruits, thats what my drs told me...
if you use ur unflavored whey protein u can still mix it in the blender and put splenda or sweet and low to give it a lil taste..., low sugar intake is what we must have... best of luck on ur new journey

Unjury has an unflavored powder at unjury.com. There are lots of ways to use it.

Check out Vitamins and Nutrition - Weight Loss Surgery Forums - RenewedReflections , there are lots of threads and discussions on protein powder in there.
Also keep in mind that you can't melt protein powder directly in warm/hot liquids, as heat alters protein. (Think, red meat turns brown when cooked. This is due to the change heat causes to protein.) You need to stir it first in cold/room temp water or milk or whatever, then slowly heat it while stirring, to preven the powder from clumping up and taste bad.
