Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Did your surgeon give you a list? I'm only asking because everyone's dr's are different. Mine said no rice, pasta or bread for 6 months. I dunno but I think your takin risks real early. Whatever you decide please be careful.

OMG...rice..are you kidding! rice swells UP badly. It's the one thing that not even a spoonful at 5 yrs out will stop me up hard and painfully..never a good idea. Pasta if you had to choose over the 2 would be a better choice but wow, not really until wayyyy after the 6 mos mark.

you know girls rice is part of the Kuwaiti quizine and I kinda like it but not like eat it everyday. I had it few couple of times and never had any problem with it!!! I'm not sure whether the rice type your using if it's different but we use Basmati rice the long, thin white rice (less starchy than the rezotou). I normally cook it to well done stage (not hard) and goes OK

Angelluv you have such an angelic face your sooooooooooo pretty!

GLAD you didnt that early out.
SOME surgeons say to wait 6 months
due to the fact it swells up it can
do that in your pouch and OUCH!!!

glad you passed on it.

Hmmm sorry but I dont know. Im 3 months post op. I have had mashed potatoes and a bit of veggies here an there and salad. But the opportunity for rice hasnt come up. Bean neiter. I think you said your 11 days post op. I was not able to have anything but my fluids and protein shakes and pureed food at that stage. But then again every surgeon seems to be different. Sorry I couldnt help. Im sure some of these others can help you out.

Default Hey There!

I am with the others. Did your dr. give you a list of ok foods? I wish I could have eaten food food at 11 days out. lol I was still on clear liquids at that time. I had to be on them for 3 weeks, then go to full liquids for another 3 weeks after that. I thought I would go nuts. lol My surgeon also told me to stay away from rice and bread especially. Every surgeon is different though. If you have tried it since you have posted this thread, I hope that you did ok with it. Good Luck if you didn't. I hope it sits well with you. Hope to get to know you a bit better through your posts. mike
