Default How many carbs a day?

I am a little over 3 months post op. curious what other have in regards to carb grams a day? I am working out a lot! 200 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity cardio plus 100 min of strength training a week so I need carbs to fuel my workout intensity. My carbs come from oatmeal, fruit, dairy and other whole grains. No white carbs only complex. Just curious how many carbs you eat in a day? Also do you measure that by net carbs? Thx.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Looking at my fitpal report, I tend to run between 25 and 50 a day. It doesn't measure net carbs.

I am over 2 years out but average 100-125 net carbs. On MFP if you add fiber as a micro-nutrient you'll be able to easily figure your net carbs.
Remember, I am 2 years post op. You shouldn't be eating that many carbs but I'd definitely ask the NUT what he/she recommends for the amount you are exercising.

Your brain can only metabolize carbs. It needs somewhere around 90-100 a day. Make sure they are as complex as possible, not refined.

Yup, enough to keep the brain fog away, not enough to wake up that dreaded carb monster.

Not trying to jack the thread but related question? Is milk a suitable carb? I'm trying to clean up and wondered how it plays in carbs besides the actual benifits of it

IMO milk should be treated as a liquid and as a source of protein. My dr's plan actually had an option to add powdered milk to regular milk as an alternative to protein shakes. Yes, there are carbs in it, including some sugar, but it should be fine to have as long as you're not lactose intolerant.

With milk being a suitable carb during a clean up phase of mostly straight protein , it just might provide as a brain carb with out causing carb craving that food carbs seem to cause. Not sure if I'm making sence and don't want to change the topic of the op
