Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Early on, it is hard, just do the best you can, try each day to get more in than the day before. Protein is very important so keep trying!!

I never did and 15 months out, I still do not.
I know I will pay for it later but whenever I
try a shake now, I throw it up. I could not
even keep an egg down this morning.

In your early post-op weeks, your pouch is still swollen, so it may not be physically easy to do the protein. Try as best you can.

More important to you at this stage is your water. Find ways to get in your 64 ounces (2 liters) every day, then when you master that work on the protein.

Good luck!!

As usual, Perfesser has got the right of it...worry about your fluid intake right now and the protein will come later...

I was lucky to get one protein shake in a day the first couple of months...it didn't help that I have yet to find I like...but I did get all my fluid in even though it seemed like it was difficult...

Perfesser hit the nail on the head (as usual!) Postop the order to work on is water, then protein. Staying hydrated is the most important thing at that stage, and the protein will come a little later.

It was at least two months postop before I was able to consistently get 60g of protein in, and sometimes I still have to supplement with a protein shake before bed (I use EAS Advantage premixed - 100 cals, 17g soy concentrate protein, 11 oz) with some fresh strawberries or a sliced fresh peach, to get over 70g.
