Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You know, I have NOT eaten any vegetables since the surgery. Afraid they would not digest good. Once food gets "stuck", its really hard for me try new things. I have flashbacks! LOL!!!!

If I get the "foamies" from something I ate, I have to wait a couple of weeks before I try it again. I know its all my fault. I either ate too fast, or ate too much, or didnt chew my food properly, or drank liquids too close to eating. So I try to forgive myself and try that food again.

What frightens me is when I eat pork! I dont care how small a piece and how much I chew a pork chop or a pork tenderloin, it gets "stuck in my chest"!!!!! So I avoid pork products completely.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones...I haven't had the foamies yet and I'm just a week over a year out...I have had dumping with high fat dairy so I don't even have the desire for it anymore...

I still have trouble with all meats unless they are cut up very, very small and are very, very juicy...

Vegetables have to be soft, soft, soft...

Every meal I eat feels like I've eaten thanksgiving meal since I'm so full with every meal but I will have the moist part of the turkey meat and a few bites of green beans and baked sweet potato...

Ooh, wait a minute, maybe I'll do that sweet potato this weekend...lol

It looks like you will be out 5months by then, in my experience you should be safe. We were told to avoid broccoli due to gas issues...
and, yes, be sure the turkey is moist.

Sometimes I had horrid pain and foaming when I ate with people...I would laugh and chat, gulp too much air I guess. I forgot to chew, chew and chew..eat small bites... I remember this one family dinner with cousins ...the pain.

But all of that does go away as time goes on. GOOD LUCK>

I don't know why but pork seems to get dry when you cook it more often than any other meat. When I make it I marinate it overnight in a plastic ziplock bag with water or juice and salt and pepper or other spice. I'm pre-op but I've always had an issue with swallowing and digesting dry meats.

The dark turkey meat is much moister than the white meat (unless I cooked it! I have some special techniques that have never failed me. I describe them in a thread in the Recipes forum.) The typical dry, crumbly breast meat is a recipe for disaster!

There are also some really good cranberry sauce and relish recipes in the Recipes forum. No cans are harmed in the making of them, and they are really good! Fresh relish is sooo much better for us than gravy!

I could not eat Turkey 4 months out. In fact at 4 months out EVERYTHING I ate made me sick and I was puking up all the time. At one point I thought I had a sticture but it was a false alarm. The only thing I ate last thanksgiving (I was 5 months out) was a few bites of mashed potatoes and a few bites of mac and cheese.

I have the same plan. Just a taste of some things I'm normally tempted by, but not going to push my luck. Believe it or not the most tempting thing for me is going to be stuffing. I plan on 1 bite!!

I'm gonna be 2 months out around Thanksgiving and I'm already worried about what I'm gonna eat. I wanna go with protein of course but I'm scared of the turkey being to dry as I had a horrible experience (pain) with chicken one time when it was too dry.
