Question Are these food Safe post op??

Once I read the can/cannot drug list, this question came to my mind about these kind of food whether they are safe for the new pouch or not?

Citrus drinks: margarita's, lime juice, lemon, pineapple, kiwi and orange juices?
Condiments: Chilly sauce, vinegar, black and white peppers, Indian and chilly spices

Cheers

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

well i do know most surgeons are against alchol for at least the first
year post op. I have heard that the alochol goes straight to your liver.
AND for some not all they get pretty drunk off small amounts. I do not
drink and have not tested this at all.

AS far as some of the juices you list. MOST may have to be watered down
do to high sugar contents that would cause dumping. ALOT of those drinks
also have to much carbs for my likeing.

I have not problem with the spicey foods but our new "POUCHES" are sensitive so everyone is different. We also have to watch for foods
that can ulcerate the pouch some. ITS trial and error with the foods.
Vinegar i have no problem with and i am a big black pepper user in
food and have been fine.

GOOD LUCK

Theoretically, after a time, you are supposed to be able to eat anything. But, some people will develop intolerance with lactose, or sugar alcohols, and not dump with glucose itself, while others will dump with any form of sugar. Fruits are high in fructose, which is another form of sugar, so as lisa says, it might be safer to dilute fruit juices, rather than drink the 100% type.

Each person's pouch will behave differently, so you'll have to tread carefully, and listen to what your pouch says.
A lot of people find their taste changed, too, and not like the food they used to love, and prefer other choices, so you will probably find yourself "experimenting" with a lot of food.

Alcohol you have to be careful of, but I belive alcohol is a no-no in your country, so I suppose by Margerita, you mean a non-alcohol beverage. Beware of liquid sugars, that seems to be the one single thing that sends most people dumping, even when they do fine with sugary foods.

Just take everything slowly at first.

Thanks for the replies. Yes it's totally forbidden in my country to have alcohol. It's tabo in "Islam" too! Yes I meant the virgin margerita ( I love the strawberry with lime, It's my favorite).
I understood all your cooments except for one term (dumping) does it mean feel sick ending up with throwing up? or does it mean it stops the losing weight process?
Cheers.

Thank you mouse for the clarification? is anyone over here having gastric banding? does the dumping feeling of the bypass feel simillar to the disconfortness feeling with the banding? I usually have it whenever I eat something with texture like breads or meat. it's more or less feels like choaking and ends up with vomiting! it gets worse when I try to drink water or any other kind of liquid thinking that it would drain it off!!
That's propably the mean reason I'm taking the band out of me I can't handle it anymore! I heard in the chatting that there is a discomcortness feeling even with the bypass I'm aware of that.
Anyway, I'm like many other feel that this operation is my last resort. I will do it and use it as a tool to change my life style compeletley. I cross my fingures and swear this time I'm honest about it with myself.
