Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

i am just making assumptions here but, could you maybe slow down a bit when yu are eating? also no tv or distractions. eat in total silence until you can understand what it feels like. it literally took me a month to understand the feeling.

Excellent advice! I still catch myself wanting to gobble my food like I used too, except now my friend pouchy says No! Measuring helps me enjoy and sometimes when I eat slowly I realize I just dont want it all.

Chew chew chew, eat slowly, no liquids with meals, and measure everything before you eat.
Some people have used baby cups and baby spoons to measure and regulate their eating.

YEs, YEs, YEs! And it really helps to put your spoon/fork in between bites just to ensure that you are not going too fast. I had to start doing that in the beginning because I didnt realize just how fast I ate prior to surgery. I does become more of a habit than a chore in time. Good Luck.

Kim, what do you mean by "put your spoon/fork in between bites"?

And about the measuring, are y'all saying to measure out 4 oz. at the beginning to make sure not to eat over 4 oz. at a time?

Kim means put your spoon/fork/knife DOWN in between bites. That way, you will automatically slow down, as compared to keeping your spoon/fork/knife in your hands and picking food up one mouthful after another.
Try to start on that habit pre op, as it will help you a lot with your post op eating.
((((HUGS))))

yes i believe my nut said to measure in the beginning but i honeslty dont. i dont cook anymor either i order from places that come in oz servings. like boston market has a 5 oz sirloin meal. well i know if i eat half the meat its between 2 and 2.5 ozs. i dont literally sit there with a measuring cup, though im sure i should...

it is funny, because learing to slow down when you eat is one of the hardest things to do, and so is the no drinking. so hard!!! I always try to tell myself, chew chew chew, while i am eating, the more i chew the slower i will eat, or at least swallow. Don't get discouraged. you are having to re- program yourself, my Dr. said something funny to me one visit, when i was telling him about this problem and he said it is funny to him because all day long he tells his patients to slow down and then goes home and tells his kids hurry up and eat, we gotta go, or whatever... And i am sure i have done the same thing, even to myself.
