Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I want to say Hi to everyone. I have a question about cheese. First of all I can do the string cheese at my stage of my new little tummy. I am almost out 2 weeks out from my surgery. But one problem with the string cheese is that I do not like modzerella cheese. So last night I tried one slice american cheese and that really sat heavy on my stomach and I did not feel good after I ate that. Did anyone else have that problem with cheese. Now the cheese in the can agrees with me real well. I also have another question, how early did any of you eat creamy peanut butter after your surgery. I am afraid to try the peanut butter cause it might sit heavy on my stomach. Thanks

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | i dont do well with full fat cheeses. try a reduced fat cheddar instead of the amwerican. i didnt eat peanut butter til further out because it tends to get "gummy" in there and being that you cant drink and eat at the same time...its not all that pleasing as you would think it would be |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I eat the string cheese, 2% ones and I have also started eating the 75% Cabot cheese that Michele "Earthy girl" told us about. I love it. They have cheddar I think. I tend to stick with the low fat ones. I have had peanut butter but dont know when I first tried it. I know I was a ways out. I want to say a month or maybe even two. I know it was a no no with my surgeon. But now at 5 months out I eat a think layer on a plain rice cake sometimes. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | My dr said no cheese for at least 6 months. I eat cheese all the time now with no problems. Also lots of pbutter - it is high in protein I have it for breakfast on mountain bread (I get this bread at Kroger or Publix bakery - it doesn't bother me like some bread does. Still can't eat english muffins or bagels.) |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I am glad you approached this subject - I am 3 weeks out now and was just given the permission for puree and string cheese is on the list. I am trying it today but it doesn't seem to break down all that well. I was able to do the cottage cheese on Wed with a little applesauce but it did sit a little heavy on my pouch - it took me an hr to get down the 1/4 cup. I was wondering about the PB but figured I would hold off a little while for that. Judy
