Default I need some input on food.

Hi everyone.
First off I am having lots of butt problems(constapation). Lucky I did not tear my rectum, which I am so afraid off happening. The doctor told me that I really flared up hemmoroids and some leesonns inside the rectom and am in so much pain. So she gave me some oilly medication and told me to take a tablespoon in the morning and evening and also one tablespoon of milk of magnesa twice a day. It seems like the oily stuff helps me but the milk of magnesha makes me feel not so good in my little tummy(pouch). So I went and bought some prunes and wanted your opinion on the prunes. It seems to lossen me up and kinda gives me gas. Right now at this point I am looking for something to help me with my butt problems, sorry to be so gross about it. The gastric bypass surgery was nothing compared to my butt problems.
Now for the other question, My nutriotionist and doctor want me to eat beef at this time. Beef with lots of gravy or juice and that is really soft. Like in a slow cooker or cooked very soft. My daughter says it is way to early for beef, she said I should first try in 3 months with some lose hamburger that is soft. She told me to stay with soft foods like fish, chicken and such. Becasue that is what my book says but the nutrionists are telling me way different, and was wondering if the doctor got his time schedule mixed up with me eating beef. I ate beef for about 3 days, but it is only about an ounce at a time once a day. It settled with me real well and did not get sick from it. I hope I did not do any harm to my little pouch eating the beef. I am kinda scared right now and need input of your opionions. I am only 3 weeks out from my surgery. My pouch feels great except for the milk of magnesha.
I am going to give up the beef for a few months till my pouch is healed up better, I made my daughter happy. She is very concerned about the beef to early.

Thanks everyone and have a great day.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

The Issue With The Beef. If It Sits Well In Your Pouch Then It Wont Do Any Harm As Long As You Dont Feel Sick Eating It. You Cant Always Go By A Book Because Like My Doc Says With This Surgery Everyone Is Different And Nothing Is Written In Stone Its All Trial And Error. You Wont Hurt Your Pouch Trying Things But If Its Not For You Your Pouch Will Just Let You Know It Till You Can Try It An Other Time. I Am Surprised Your Doc Told You To Eat Beef Soooooooo Early Out. But Like I Said If Your Pouch Likes It Then You Can Have It. Its Only About What The Pouch Will Like

Aw Kitty, big hugs to you for your pain. I know I had alot of problems with my BM's in the beginning. Smooth Move that Lisa is talking about is good. I also take 2 Fish Oil capsules at night, then have good results in the A.M. Sorry you are in so much pain sweetie, hopefully this will end soon for you.

DianaB
how do you take the fish oil capsals, Arn't the caps. to big to swallow for a gastric bypass person. I use to take fish oil caps before the surgery and the caps are huge. I have smooth move tea in my house and I am sure going to try it tonight before I go to bed.
thanks all

Kitty I have had the same problem - I mix 1 tblspn of milk of mag with 1 tblspn of prune juice. I bought the stool softener pills and cut them into quarters and take at night - I have taken the mom and prune juice as much as twice a day. I started ground beef this week without any problems but have mostly eaten refrieds, eggs and some chicken - I am thinking about some flax oil in a small amt of protein drink and take it like a shot. Some days for me it takes all of the stuff for me to go. I hope you get better. I have tucks in the fridge and creams nearby too.

Kitty I agree with Ashley. I take the stool softners, 3 a day. I take the Walmart brandof Colace and that seems to help. I did go thru some rought spells in the begining with constatpation too. I am better now. I also when I really needed it took the Mirlax that Ms. vickie reccomended on here. That seems to help. Its a powder that you can add to anything hot or cold and it doesnt have any taste to it.
About the beef. That does seem to early out to me. I dont rembmer exactly when I was told I could try it but it was deftinely a ways out post op. Beef does ok with me but I know alot of peope have probelms with it. Hang in there.
