| Snacking on Popcorn and Pretzels
I'm 2 months out and Popcorn is my favorite snack food and I especially like the white cheddar popcorn. Still can't eat too much and I do tend to burp a bit more, but it sure is good.
The other snack I have come to love is these pretzels that have peanut butter in them. Really good and some protein to boot. Again, I can't eat many, but they seem to really hit the spot for snacking. I know I have to watch the sodium but other than that they seem to be a healthy snack.
What's your favorite "snack food" these days?

Jill, I hate to be a killjoy, but my dr told me to never eat popcorn. Please check with yours to make sure that this is something you can do. If I need a pick me up I usually have a couple of whole wheat crackers with a slice of cheese.

I think its great if you can tolerate it ! My surgeon the only thing he told me not to do is sugar. Natural sugar is great according to him but nothing with it added.

ive done popcorn. i usually do the 100 calorie pack and share it with my daughter. i liked it. i ate too much and it hurt til it left me so to speak. but my dr said i could have it as long as i dont do more than 1 cup. in fact he said to use that rule of thumb for all snacks. i dont eat it every day. i think i did that one week and retained so much water LOL! so i dont eat it often. my new FAVORITE snack is cheese. al kinds. cheddar, pepper jack, swiss...doesnt matter. i love it. LOL!

I'm with you on cheese -- but that's usually part of a meal for me versus a snack. And yes, I do keep the helping small -- although not sure its 1 c or less?? I use those 100 cal bags too

Oh Jill ...your killing me ( lol ) ...I love all those things ,but I dont dare touch them because Im dieting for my sergery! I could probably have just a small portion but Im addicted ...Ill eat the whole darn thing . There is a question though I would like to ask you and the other ladies though ! After sergery and you do eat popcorn and pretzils aswell as chips ... dont you feel that the texture (crunchy) upsets or bothers your new pouch ?
Also Jill ...the phrase below your pictures ..." I can do all things through Christ who gives me stength " I agree with you 100 % my friend !! God Bless You !!!
Jerry

I'm with Bren...doc says popcorn is a NO NO. I havn't tried it...something about the hulls getting stuck in the pouch and hard to digest.....I avoid pretzels because of the carb thing....I'm not really counting calories, but cutting carbs, fats & sugars down to BARE minimums. It does make things interesting, as there is NOT much left when you cut all that out!
I snack on sunflower seeds some.....reading labels, I found the Special K Protein snack bar isn't too bad (not the meal replacement bar). I've used strawberries as a snack, and I "tasted" some of the Lorna Doone cookes (in the 100 cal pack).
I am really trying NOT to snack....3 meals and gallons of water! (i eat 2 meals or protein and drink one!)

I have been eating popcorn since pretty early out and its one of my favorite snacks. The pretzles with the peanutbutter are awsome too. I eat the popcorn all the time, i watch how much i eat because i can easily kill off a whole bag without realizing it. I eat the natural lite kinds or the lite smartfood cheese one......Every surgeon is diffrent mine never said i couldnt have the popcorn, thank god....
