I have just had a bypass (3 weeks ago) and am still struggling to force myself to drink. I hate the "Milk Shakes" I was given and never feel like eating. I have no appetite.

I remember having that same feeling, it was such a chore for me to eat or drink anything. It takes a while for our bodies to adjust to this new pouch. Hang in there, make yourself drink and eat--your body need this to heal properly. Getting in our protein, fluids and vitamins are so important. Even after 7 months I still don't get hungary(this I am happy about--but I know this is just the "honeymoon" period--before I know it I will be fighting my hungar) Remember, always check with your doctor if something doesn't seem right, good luck.

That sounds real familiar -- but you have learn to "force" yourself to get your protein in and just sip, sip, sip that water all day long. You'll have to try some different kinds of protein shakes til you find one you like. I've found that I like the ones I make in the blender the most. I never even used the shaker I bought! Good luck and remember to keep sipping that water!

I had to set a little alarm to remind myself that it was time to eat something. Now I have myself on a schedule. If I miss a meal, I will get really sick, so be very careful. As for the protein powder, I had to go through several to find one that I was able to tolerate.

Darlin sip your water. Its your best friend. It will keep your tummy happy for a while. I carry mine with me. I have to have ice water all the time. These ladies in here can give you good suggestions for the protein drinks and what taste good and what dont. I dont drink them per my surgeon yet. You will get to feeling better in a few days trust me. I had post op complications and about the 4 week things started coming together for me. Hang in there.

| Hello and welcome. I found the EAS from Walmart suited me best initially. Now they all make me gag -- I currently drink 16 oz of skim milk with 1 sugarfree instant breakfast which gets me 23 grams of protein - takes about 1-1 1/2 hours to get down though! Good luck - sip sip sip

I FINALLY found a protein drink I could stomach. GNC- vanilla ice cream, tastes reasonably good. I went through a lot of differnent stuff, but this one agrees with me.
