Default question DOC about eating?

I was wondering if you could give us a rough diet on what we can eat before 4 months out. i read about people eating at fast food res.,bread, snack crackers, pasta, hot dogs,lunchmeat,etc... I know all docs are different, and mine does not allow any of the above,so I was just curious; is there a general diet? St.Vincent Group seems to be so much stricture than all the others. thanks for any advice you can give....

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I say stick to your surgeon and nut's diet. I don't recommend any fast foods, or processed foods, actually. Your surgeon is telling you to avoid what essentially are very high carb, high fat food, and that's the best thing to do. This is the period during which not only do you lose because you can't eat a lot, but for you to set up healthy eating habits.
Your surgeon can guarantee your sucess only if you stick to his program.

Stick to your surgeons plan this early out and as you grow you can add in little things.....many who eat some of the stuff you mentioned are way out of the loosing period and more into maintenace....Best advice is to stick to what your surgeon says for the best success...

Hi Lazell,
Your a good month ahead of me, but i eat pretty much what you have listed
Though i did sample a few things like a bite of pizza and the inside of a taco from taco bell ( i had to see if i still had the same addictions as before-- and i don't).
But other then those 2x's, i keep it to protein shakes &/or add pro powder to my food, cooked/steamed veggies, fresh or canned fruits & berries, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, eggs, lean meats (fish, chix, pork, beef), orange juice, milk, low carbs, SF or no sugar added foods, nuts-- and lots of water!! *I eat my protiens first.

I do have to admit that I have eaten PIZZA since your time out....Been one of my favorite foods and that has not changed post op. What has changed is i look for pizza shops that make thin crusted pizza and i usually dont eat the whole slice, sometimes i do now but early out i cut it in half like the kids do and threw out the other half. Before surgery i could eat half a damn pie if i wanted to....But i refused to give up my pizza...lol
