Does anyone eat sushi and how long post op did you give it a try. I am missing my sushi. I love the tempera prawn rolls. Do you think I can still have those even though there is a small amount of tempera batter?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

In the long run, you can, if your pouch is agreeable.
You'll be able to do anything you like, so long as your pouch is agreeable.
I've seen CraigT, the host of this board, eat both, and as far as I know, it didn't bother him.

The short run, you can try it out once your surgeon gives you the go for regular food. However, you need to keep in mind that rice and some other things can swell up in your pouch, and play havoc on you.

I still have trouble with rice, regular rice...my daughter works at a sushi restaurant now so we often have sushi. Tempurs isn't the problem so much as the noodles and the rice for me. Rice tends to swell up in my intestine and I guess the one positive is that over time trying it again and again I find sushi doesn't take much! LOL..between the seaweed and the roe there's protein there!

Oh it has rice in it. Doc is right. Rice is no good for me. I once got ate a few morsels or rice when I ate some chinese chicken and man did rice not go over well at all. I swear those few little pieces blew up in my pouch. I have avoided rice ever since. I am afraid to try again even though I am almost 9 months out.

I have had a little rice and it went down quite nice. Thanks for the feedback.

I went thru a sushi phase about two months post op-----I ate everything but the rice. Rice makes me ill but I was able to eat everything inside the role with no problems.
