| whats the best protein drink
I am new on here and I am still waiting on my surgery date after many cancellation by my insurance, I am believing that this time they will approve it.
I am trying to get prepaired and I want to lose a few pounds before hand even though my DR doesn't require it, i also want to find a premade protein drink that works well and tastes good, any ideas? Any other tips on getting prepared nutritionally?
Thank you

welcome! the best? it's gonna be a toss up between what your dr requires (post op) and how it tastes to you. i like the atkins advantage ready to drink shakes. i also like the eas ready to drink shakes. in terms of powders my favorite is unjury which can only be purchased at Welcome to the UNJURY Homepage. all of these are sugar free, low or no carb, and a decent protein source. you may not like the taste of these now. i have no idea what to suggest pre-op im sorry. i've only had to do liquid protein post op.
best of luck on your journey. please keep us updated

I'd recommend you get sample packs first - protein drinks are varied and don't count on anything you like being OK after surgery either. Your tastes will change.
Kenyar posted a link to Unjury - they do samples. So does Vitalady * Vitalady.com - Protein Supplements, Vitamins & Minerals, and Safe Snacks! *
Talk with your surgeon about a pre-surgery vitamin/supplement regime. See if you can talk with a nutritionalist beforehand too.

I'm with Kenyar on this one. In the long run though it will be a matter of personal taste. See if they will send you sample packs(unjury will) to try out before you commit to a whole container.

The protein drinks I liked prior to surgery, I didn't like afterwards. My taste buds changed with the surgery. So don't stock up to much. The samples everyone suggested is a great ideal. That way you can pick the ones you like after surgery.
