| Finally Found a Good Meal
I finally found a good meal Refried Beans and mashed potatoes.....sounds real appetizing....lol...but actually it was the best meal I have had in a week since surgery. I tried peanut butter yesterday and it made me sick..I go to the doctor tomarow to get this aggravating drain out maybe I will feel more normal after that My emotions haven't been that bad today hopefully it will stay that way. Wanted to go to Church this morning but afraid it was a little to soon to sit still that long maybe I will go Wednesday night.

I bet it does go down well. I remember eating mashed potatoes and thought I had gone to heaven. Anything was better than the liquids

Oh my gosh! Refried Beans were my best friend early post op. If I wasn't eating those then I was eating cottage cheese. I also didn't mind chili but the Refried Beans were a major staple for me.

Then of course I ate mashed potatoes from KFC...much more 'creamy' -- easy to go down. Quote: |

| TOO SOON....
it's too sticky...and you're pouch is still healing (not to mention swollen) -- just think, even though you are feeling better....your insides won't be healed "completely" for about 3-4mos. So....it's really important to take it very very easy on your new tummy.
DEFINITELY no rice, pb, pasta....and you MUST without a doubt go sllllloooooowwwww and chew everything until "mushy-puree" in your mouth before you swallow.
Lets just say....if you don't....your body will REJECT what you eat....(like getting sick on PB) or...you could start the 'foamies'....honestly BOTH are HORRID....ugh.
Take it slow..... Quote: |

Mashed potatoes are a Godsend at any stage. There good for you and just really seem to sit well with most. When I went through a stage of my tummy not working I still say potaoes saved my life. Take care.
