Default Insurance Help

Hello my name is Ellis. I weight is 370 pounds. I am 29 years old and have tried all diets, and can not loose any weight. I have BSBC of South Carolina. My family doctor has sent me to a free seminar to check out this surgery, and now I find out that my insurance will not pay at all. Can any one please help?

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hey Ellis, if you can wait for about a week, I am just finishing an e-book that should really help you out.

Hey marty, I don't have any answers for ya sorry, but I would talk to someone at your clinic and they should be able to tell you. Keep posting, it is nice to have more newbies here.

Do you have HMO?
If so ..You have start with your Primary Care Physician...(PCP)
You have see your PCP he/she submits the paper work to your insurance
Key word for the insurance is:
Is it medical necessary?
HIgh blood pressure,diabetes and etc...

Ohh that is a tough one. Is there maybe another job that you are in good enough condition to get that has insurance? To pay for this surgery out of pocket is really pricey. In the meantime I would try to make sure that you are going on a Dr. supervised diet since many insurance companies are requiring 3-6 months of medically supervised dieting attempts and it is rumored by my surgeons office that later this year many will try to increase it to 12 months. Good luck and I hope that something will work out for you.

I've applied for disability but like usual that takes sooo long to finally get approved for. I live in a really small town so jobs that i CAN do are very hard to find. i've been tod that i dont qualify for medicaid so im in a really bad spot. I really want to have this surgery done im only 22 and have alot to look forward to in life the surgery would be a great new and healthy start
