Default I am carefully considering this option...

There is hope. I have talked on the phone with several patients today. This is a very affordable and possible option for me. I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from the folks that I've spoken with. It is a bit scarey admittedly, so that's why I'm saying it may be a possible option. Absolutely no flames please!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Search every avenue, every nook and cranny.
However, at the same time, don't give up on your insurance, do every research you can do there, too, to see if you have exhausted every single possibility.
(((((((HUGS)))))) May everything turn out for the best for you.

Hello Kat! I did indeed call and ask my doctor that very question and he said that he would not perform both procedures at the same time and that a "skilled surgeon" would never do that. PFfftt.

Default Updating as I learn more

I've talked to 7 patients so far, and so far all of them have nothing to say but fabulous things about the entire team! I talked to the doctor personally. All of the doctors are members of the ABBS as well. They offer their own financing w/monthly payments as low as $170/month. Now THAT is totally doable. $12,500 includes airfare, the hosp. stay, the motel suite, the hospital stay, etc. I talked to the doctor extensively today and grilled him much like I grilled my surgeon here. They sound like they know their Ps & Qs. I believe that this could be a very doable option for me. Like I said I just don't ever see myself being able to lose 188lbs by myself. I'm going to keep the faith and not give up just yet. I'm still going to keep my exercise regime going. There is an inner athlete in me just screaming to get her way out.

Default Hey Kat!

I've now been looking all over at Obesityhelp.com -- the doctor's from AffordableBariatrics.com are on the site as a resource! I'm starting to believe that my Guardian Angel sent me to that website as it's the only way I'm going to be able to have the surgery and $12,500 is doable. Thanks for talking to me on the phone. I was pretty devastated.
