Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  Well file is finally with the medical review department Well after getting the paper from my PCP faxed to the insurance yesterday, I thought I would call today to see if they received it. Yes, they have it but now after all the other hassles they gave me they came up with this new one. They said the diet that the dietician who is by the way affiliated with the surgeons office, is not low enough in calories. It is a 1200 calorie diet, I would believe the surgeons office would know what these insurance companies are looking for. So they rep tells me I would have to start the 6 month diet over again. That I would need to be on a 800-1000 calorie diet. I got so mad I told him I was getting tired of them telling me after this you have everything. Then when furnished with the item, no now you need this. I was so fed up I called my sis in law who has been through all this and helping me, that I quit. I explained the whole thing to her and she said no, you call a supervisor. So after I cooled down a little I did. When I talked to the supervisor and told him what was going on and about the run around, he told me they have the last piece they were missing. That he was sending it to the medical review department and I should know in about 5 days. So Friday I will be calling back to check. I don't know about being approved, but how would I ever know since they were going to leave my file sit there. So now I can only hope and pray for an approval. Thanks to all of you, I really was ready to give up and let the ins. co. win. I then thought of what I know you have all been saying, and knew what you would say. FIGHT, and don't give up! So I am still here fighting. Thanks to you all for all of your support.

You know I know insurance companys have to make money to but dam they get under my skin. Im in hopes you were talking to somone that didnt know what they were talking about. Let them deal with it right now. I dont understand the under 1200 calorie diet they said they needed you to do. That calorie count is what alot eat 6 months out from surgery. Hang in there. Someone else besides the person you talked to has to look at this for final approval. I have eveything crossed for you honey. |
