Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

From Kat.

I enjoyed cream of wheat with lf ricotta in the center and spaghtti sauce on top. First I made the COW, then I made a hole in the middle and burried about 1/4 c. ricotta and nuked for about 30 secs, added a little sauce on top and a little parm, and nuked for another 30 sec. Sort of like puree style lasagana. PS if you try this out, cover the bowl during nukeing...or your micro will look like it's been nuked. LOL

From FemmeMode

One of my favs was the noodless meatless Lasana....soooo delish!
I also baked fish....it's easy to mash with fork...but isn't like blended...my nutritionist suggested this. I also did mashed sweet potatoes...and broccoli cook really well...it mashes easily with a fork...same with califlower....

I also fround that fish and shrimp was HIGH protein...so I ate a lot of this.
I, like Janae...also did refried beans and a little guacamole...Kosyshack has a sugar free rice pudding....LOVED this...still do!

From Shelley for those of you who are having a hard time with protein shakes.

Alright I have been slacking ladies. I have been busy with my son. Here is my suggestion. I hated protein shakes until I went to the gym and the guy there turned me on to one. You do have to take five minutes to mix it yourself but well worth it and its very filling.

Shelley's protein shake

8 oz Hood's Calorie Countdown Chocolate Milk

1 banana

1 scoop ON 100% Whey Gold Standard protein vanilla ice cream flavored
(can be bought at GNC for $19.99 for a container that gives you 32 scoops)

4-6 ice cubes

Blend all together in the blender and voila! A delicious protein shake without the gritty taste. It is very smooth and filling. And you get 32 gms of protein in one shake!

I liked pot roast or cheap steak that had been in a slow cooker for at least all day on low and then made gravy and mixed it with peas. The meat was really tender and I was able to eat it okay that way.

Sure. The cooking method is called braising.
First you sear your seasoned meat on all sides, then add onions & celery till transparent. Next you add the cooking liquid (beef stock, diced tomato or sauce, wine etc.), bay leaf and maybe a little herbs, bring to a simmer and cover. Put in a 350 oven for 45-hr. During that time you can get any other veggie that you want to add ready, root veggies, more celery and onion, garlic etc. Add them to the meat, make sure to have enough liquid to cover them so they may cook in the broth. Cover and cook for another 1hr. or so till fork tender. You got it, baby!!!

Talking MORE PUREE'd....

I know that many are getting ready...or have just had WLS....and Puree'd foods are sooo important in the recovery...b/4 you get to solids.
WELL....I just found something REALLY great -- and b/c it's fall/winter....this is the perfect seasons for gourds!

BUTTERNUT SQUASH!!!

OH my....never had this before...and have found this is soooo delish!
It doesn't look like yellow or zucchini...it's more like pumpkin. but it's pair shaped...in the bulbus part there is a seed cavity that you clean out ...then cut the rhind off.
You can bake it or boil it....but the only way I've had it is boiled....

Boil it until very soft drain off about 1/2 the water....but use the other 1/2 to mash....you can beat it...but I use a masher or a wisk.

I add spray "I can't believe it's not butter"....my hubby uses real butter...and a little salt!

It's has a wonderfu texture...and a natural buttery sweet taste...and the salt tops it off. It's kinda like a sweet potatoe...but has a different texture....I LOVE IT!!! You have to try it!!!
