Thumbs up Giving back a recipe

Hi,
I have taken so many recipes from this site I thought I would give back one. Tonight I am making chili - very healthy chili. I used ground turkey and cooked it with some onion and drained it. I spiced it up and then added the packets of chili mix. I used V-8 juice (low sodium heart healthy kind) then added cans of chili beans (my kids like lots of beans) and then HUNTS "seasoned diced tomato sauce for chili" which is wonderful. I put a can of Hunts paste in it because I don't like real runny chili. Some of the kids like it with elbow noodles and cheddar cheese on it with some chopped raw onion. But this is a super healthy low fat low sugar meal that I will stretch out over 2 days worth of dinners and lunches. Gotta love it.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

you got me in the mood to cook some chilli too, I'll try it, seems like everyone has their own version of chilli to be made 100 diff. ways, this is similar to what I usually do. I've never added the V8 but I've used that in some quick veggie soups. You can tell fall is around the corner, I'm getting in the mood for soups!

Sounds yummy. I've been looking for good things to eat pre-op too. I'm going to try this one over the weekend. Thank you!

Sounds good. I have some leftover chicken. That would be a great way to get rid of it. I always have beans, canned tomatoes, and tomato paste on hand.

Looks like we are all having chili tonight. LOL

Thanks!

I had chii tonight, which was made fairly similar. But I never use a recipe. I find the ground turkey kind of blah, so do spice it up. Haven't used the V8...that is a good idea. I used a bunch of fresh tomatoes and celery from the garden, plus dumped in more home canned tomoates. Also put green pepper in. Our family doesn't like kidney beans real well, so I often use butter beans instead.
When it cools enough I'll have to freeze little serving packets of it.
Nice for lunches at work. Easy to reheat.
Any more good chili recipes? I love chili. Can WLS people handle it made very well with with hamburger? I haven't tried ground beef yet.
Have a good week everyone!
