Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | OKAY being 18 months post op now my appetite is bigger...so i am trying to be very careful of my CARBS now that i can definitely eat more then i could last year. THERE IS protein in this bread and nothing with carb!!! I saw this recipe and had to share it here: Pre-heat your oven to 300 degrees. You'll need 3 eggs 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar 3 tablespoons of cottage cheese( I use sour cream) 1 pack of art. sweetener pinch of salt You seperate the whites and the yolks of 3 eggs (I put the whites in one bowl, and the yolks in another)- don't get any of the yolks into the whites. Add 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar to the whites and beat the whites until they are fluffy. then fold in the remaining ingredients 3 eggs yolks, 3 tablespoons of cottage cheese, 1 pack of splenda. (I mix the yolks, cottage cheese, sweetener together in the other bowl before I add it to the whites) Don't mix it for more than a minute- so you don't break down the fluffy-ness of the whites. After it's all mixed, spoon it onto a "Pam-ed" cookie sheet into 6 "piles"- the book says to stack it up 2 inches high per roll, but mine are never that firm to stay stacked, they usually kind of spread out on the sheet. However they land on the sheet, just pop them into the oven at 300 degrees for an hour. (Ive never had to leave mine in that long) PICTURE: ![]()

| THANKS LISA, You may just have given me my supper meal for tonight. I was just sitting her thinkin, what in the h... am I going to make for supper? I have my mom and dad coming up for supper tonight. They are not fussy at all, so this might just be the meal they are going to get. Besides, my mother is a diabetic anyway so this will be perfect for her as well. THANKS LISA FOR SHARING THIS. I, myself, was getting a little hungry for a burger, but never would eat one, well, part of one, because of the bread. The buns in the store are too high in carbs for my taste. THANKS AGAIN. mike |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | GLAD YOu liked the recipe... i know for me being im buckling down and getting on track i dont want to many carbs...usually one regular hamburger bun can put me over my daily quota.....so i stumbled on this idea... i used to pre op do the bunless burger with lettuce tomatoe and stuff but i really dont do well with salad....so just the burger is boring! I needed a legal bread...!!! FOR me carbs are very evil. AND i learned thats. I am a carb addict and relized i need to keep them in control to maintain all the hard work i have done. LET me know what you think...i notice you enjoy cooking alot? my husband does the cooking alot in my family cause i work long days...and we would eat too late if we waited for me to finish up a day. I think its cool you cook! enjoy!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Wow, Lisa, that really looks good! I tried a new recipe that I found on another site. We have something similar on our recipe forum, but this is how I did it. Protein Balls 1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal 1/2 cup Splenda 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder (I used Unjury) 1 cup no sugar added peanut butter Mixed it all together and rolled in walnut sized balls, then in coconut, then stored in a tupperware bowl. You could vary the taste by rolling in nuts or using different flavors of protein powder. I used to really like protein bars, but all of a sudden they got waaaaaaay too sweet for me. I also hate the Unjury protein as a drink, but can't even taste it in this recipe. I haven't figured the protein count, but it should be pretty good. The peanut butter would make them fairly high calorie, but they have really helped me get some protein in. The oatmeal has protein, too. I may have added a little more oatmeal, they were a little sticky otherwise. I think next time I make them I may add even more Unjury to them to up the protein grams.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Lisa thanks for inspiring me with this food recipe. I fully agree that we need to boast up the proteins and cut the carbs to the minimum. I have been platueing now for over 2 months now. I can hear you sweetie, I'm after you. Today with all the food seduction while I was shopping I said to myself I can enjoy eating but make it without guilt so we shopped around for places where I can eat fish unfortunately the closest was the McDonald's so I was hmmm thinking should I go for the fish fillet and remove the buns? then I looked at their menu and aha lets have fish ceaser salad. SO I bought plain salad and fish fingers, ate them together. It wasn't the greatest but I enjoyed it! It feels wonderful if we eat wisely. Thanks hone, your my inspiration. Wannabethin, thanks a lot for the meat balls recipe sounds yum yum, can't wait to get back home to cook it! Love, Hanadi
