Question wanted: ideas for flavored water

I met with the dietician a couple of weeks ago and am trying to implement most of what she suggested prior to surgery. I can go decaf, that isn't a problem, giving up pop isn't a problem. But, I do like the flavored water that Wal Mart carries under the Sam's Choice brand which I won't be able to have due to the carbonation. She gave me several options but what I want isn't something that is going to taste like lemonaide, I want flavored water without all the extra sweetness if that makes any sense.

Does anyone know of any recipes or ways to make a flavored water beverage outside of just adding a lemon slice to it? I tried orange and it just isn't strong enough to get by that way.

It doesn't have to be as simple as throwing a couple of slices of fruit in a pitcher. I do know how to cook. I just don't want it really sweet like the flavored waters I have tasted.

Thanks in advance!!

Melinda

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

How about iced teas? Celestial Seasonings has some herbal teas that taste amazing hot or iced. My favorites are: Honey Vanilla Camomille, Sweet Apple Camomille, Country Peach Passion, and True Blueberry. Really good! If you follow the brewing instructions (some people make the mistake of letting the bags steep too long) it will not have the bitter taste that teas sometimes have. They have some sweetness without being too sweet.

Also, they are all herbal teas, and have no caffiene.

There is a website that sells essential flavors for water! You put in several drops, to the strength you want and mix! That's it! And they have lots of flavors, plus they sell other natural and organic stuff too. I love them, the customer service is great and if you have a question about their products, just give them a call and they will be glad to help. Here's the addy: http://www.naturesflavors.com I hope that will help you.

I mix a tiny (1/4 cup) of regular juice in 20-26ounces of water. I love it and it's better than crystal light!

Thanks for the ideas, I was hoping to find something natural that I can make but the ideas here sound so much more convenient.

I like water and drink quite a bit of it, I just like to have a bit more of a variety especiallly in the summer when I drink a lot more water.

How about crystal light, I love the lemonade and ice tea with lemon, they have easy single pouches you can add to a bottle of water. I used to drink them quite often pre-surgery because of the diabetes and they are sugar free with 0 calories. I do not indulfe in them now though but only because I LOVE plain water and I know it is essential.

I couldnt stand plan water rite after and anything flavored was too sweet! Any way I have since found that cutting everything in half with water has fixed the problem. This can be any thing from diet cranberry, to crsytal light to bottled flavored waters.
