I know for me early post op one meal would be far to much food for me early out, when i ate such small amounts.
I imagine as long as the proteins are UP, carbs not overboard, fats good
and not to loaded with sodium it can work!!!!
LET us know how you do!!!!!

Hi, I just had gastric bypass on Feb 22,07. So right now I still on soft food. I have tryed healthy Choice soup and found it to be ok. I am still very puzzle with my diet. To date I have lost 30 Ibs and yes it feels good. If anyone can help me to try to understand my diet I'm all ears. I very happy to find this site.

| Hey Galltall & Denise - I don't know where you are in your doctors protocol.....if you are now on solids...but some of the pureed recipes in this thread : RANDOM RECIPES -- Pureed are really wonderful and I honestly ate them for 6mos!! Hope there are some keepers in here for you too.... and that you find this thread helpful. Glad you are here.....asking questions. I did eat a lot of soup early on....the only thing I'd watch with "healthy choice" is sometimes they are high in sodium. But, I'm sure you are checking all of that out! I could eat about a 1/2 cup at your stage....I was always panicked that was too much....but my doctor said I was fine....and I kept losing pretty well....so I think it must have been. I'm excited to see your 'transformations'....if you haven't taken pictures...take a front, side and back view - trust me you will be glad - SOOO GLAD - that you did! I know I am...here is my progression shot....(btw: I hated taking my first shot!!) |

HI DENISE!
I just wanted to welcome you to the site
and I look forward to getting to know you
thru your posts.
FOR me soft foods meant ( and you should go buy your surgeons rules being they all differ) were cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, purreed soups, chicken salad, eggsalad, riccotta cheese (loved my noodless lasagna), scrambled eggs (most dont tolerate), surgar free or protein puddings anything that is soft that interests you.
GOOD LUCK and your off to a great start!
AND again welcome
