Smile Homemade Soups!

You know, it finally sunk in about the sodium and soups! So when my husband and I went shopping today we just bought everything to make homemade chicken & rice (I know I can't have the rice & stuff, but I can have the broth); beef barley (again, I can have the broth); split pea and bean soup. My husband is a great cook and he's just going to make soups the next four nights in a row and then I'll have plenty of freezable left overs to last me through my entire two week liquid post op. Again, I'll strain out or blend up what I can't have in solid form but I'll tell you right now, that chicken soup is smelling just wonderful! Anyone have other great homemade soup recipes to share??

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I have spent my summer canning stuff from my garden and taking me into account for once. Nothing early post op however and now you got me thinking =(. What I have done for later is Juiced alot of tomatoes for soups and I know how much salt to put in if any to make it very acceptable. The veggies I hve done are very small this year. Meaning the green beans were stringless and snaped as small as I could get them. I even used little jelly jars for this along with pints. I have always used quarts. I did do some quarts for regualr eating since I have my hubby and my 22 year old son with me still. I put alot of fruit up in jelly jars also using such tiny piceces for when that time comes. I suggested a smoothing earlier to someone on here. I have made my fruit and froze the stuff that is oK do to that to so by the time next spring summer is here i can make my own from my own stuff knowing it was natural in sweeting. I learned alot of that from when my mother found she was a diabetic years ago and we had to learn to can and freeze so she could eat it as well.

This may have all been in vain but I will let yall know this later on when im allowed to have it. Your homemade soup sounds great and I will file this along with my other stuff when I can find it!

Kenya I have have gotten to a point right now if i have a left over piece of tomato and onions or pepers i chop them up so fine and place them in a jar and get another tomato and juice it well. Im doing that for a salsa for later. That way I know what Im eating. I pop a cap on and give it a hot water bath for 10 mins to seal it up and store it.

I am jealous...I love all of those soups, but have never even tried to make them. How do we tolerate the beans? We love ham and beans here, but I dont know how it will do me after the fact!

I was wondering because I really like the black refried beans and thought that might be something really good to have on the soft foods, which is slowly coming towards me!!

Oh, I like all of those...just have to get used to NO RICE! LOL What about the chick peas? The only place I have really eaten those were in salads, but I really like the taste of them...they are kind of meaty tasting!
