Default Pizza Recipe

I noticed a lot of people said they couldn't eat pizza anymore so I thought I'd share my recipe.

Sauce:
Spray a saute pan with cooking spray, add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. chopped garlic and 1 tsp dried onion flakes and saute for just a minute. Add 1 small can tomato sauce, 1/2 tsp oregano, salt and pepper to taste.

Use one small tortilla for the base
1/8 C of sauce
1/8 C of LF Mozzarella cheese
9 slices of turkey peperoni
vegetables to your liking

Cook at 400 degrees for about 15 min. Or put it under the broiler for just a few. Very quick meal!

I've found a sun dried tomato tortilla at Food Lion that's got 9G of protein and I use a half of one of these (they are very big). With the cheese and peperoni it comes to 17G protein, 167 cal, 7 fat, 11 Carb.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Yum - I gotta try that at some point - I bet my kids will like it, especially since they can create their own - the tortilla is a good idea too!

I love tortilla pizzas, will look for the ones with the high protein, I know there are low carb ones. Thanks for the idea.

I have not tried any pizza yet. My daughter did the pizza with only meat and sauce and cheese and put it into the microwave until the cheese melted. She did that for many months until at one of her cooking clubs, a person brought a desert using wontons for crust and that gave her the idea to put wontons in a muffin pan cups and then she baked it till done and then she put her stuff for the pizza in the wonton crust and then she baked it until the cheese melted. That is how she has been eating it now. Her husband loves them. I just have not had a craving for any pizza yet.
I am copying your filling recipe and going to try it on the wonton crust. the filling sounds so good to me and your filling is making me hungry for pizza and i like veg. on pizza. I have done the tortila crust before surgery and the pizza is good on there.

Excelent idea! Yes, pizza just makes you get that icky feeling! I did have a little thin & crispy from pizza hut, and that wasn't bad because it was...thin and crispy! But your idea sounds MUCH healthier, more protein and less fat, and you can make it with what ever you want! Thanks Barb!
