Hi Linda, like any WLS procedure (or other tool) the lap band is a lot of work on your part. WLS is a tool to help people diet to lose a lot of weight. Dr Simpson says that success with any WLS is 10 percent the surgery and 90 percent the patient! So the proverbial pre surgery diet is probably the best preparation for using your tool well after surgery! The lap band is a good tool, and it's totally reversible and has shown a really good average weight loss also. If you haven't already, you might want to do some reading on Dr Simpson's website. he has online seminars and lots of good advice:

Weight loss doctor - Lap-band surgery seminar - Bariatric surgeon in Phoenix Arizona (AZ)

Good luck on your WLS journey!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.
