Well, I guess lap band is new to the media....

I thought over thye lapband and did tons of research and also joined a message board of members who had this done and overall I decided to go with RNY because for one yes you can lose the weight but there are ways to get pasted the band and still over eat. One way is to drink while eating and that passes the food through quickly. I also didnt like the fact that you had to pay to get the fills and the fills are pricey where I am. About 480 per fill. I also want to have a LARGE amount to lose and the RNY is better for that. Anywho just my thoughts...oh also my insurance wont cover it, I think its still new in the US and therefore some docs dont want to bother.
