It's been a long time since I posted here... I had surgery on 11/21/08 & am down 43 lbs. since that date.

I am through the strained & soft food phases too. I certainly don't miss the protein drinks - they are too gross.


I have been exercising (walking) about 4x each week for 30 minutes - 1 hour. I think the exercising has been KEY to my weight loss....

I have found several foods that are working well for me - lots of beans (black, kidney,...

OMG - 10 days from today is surgery! I'm really nervous, but also very excited! I am facing some obstacles - family members who think I need to try harder at dieting & exercise... It's a bummer, but I know that in my heart & mind having RnYGB is the best choice for me. Plus the fabulous team at the Highland Hospital Bariatric Center has educated & prepared me for this decision. I am so ready to get on with it!
I attended my last pre-surgical MONARCH support group meeting...

Surgery in 24 days! WOW! It is coming so quickly. I'm feeling ready in many ways. It seems like so much of my energy was used to be patient while in the program at Highland. Attending seminars, individual appointments with the dietician & psych., but now the one thing I've been impatient about waiting for is coming FAST!
Will I have all of my Christmas shopping done?
Gifts wrapped?
Will the kids toys still be consuming all of the space in our house?
