    Hi 2xmomma,
This is my first time doing this so I hope you will reach out to me. I will be getting the dualdeno switch surgery in March. I am getting a little nervous. I would like to know about which protein drinks you would recommend? Also I am curious to know if your shoe size has changed or if it was just the width? I am presently 322 lbs and need help because of a bad hip and back problems. I have not worked in 2yrs because of this. I just turned 44 yrs old but sometimes I feel physically like I am 90. Surgery will not help because of nerve damage and arthritis in spine etc.
I am excited and looking forward to the new changes. One other question, did you exercise after surgery and was there a lot of excess skin? I know i am asking a lot but I am concerned.
    Thanks,
    joyful

My ramblings...
I think WLS surgery gives you normalcy - just that prior to surgery OUR normalcies were NOT NORMAL!!!!!!! By 18-24 months out I should be eating a meal similar to what the Canada Food Guide suggests - THAT will be NORMAL. And to tell the truth, the idea of little to no sugars is not a bad thing, nor is having a lot of processed foods - they contain WAY too much sodium etc anyhow! And the carbs thing, well, again - carbs turn to sugar in our bodies, so they...

If you're eating in a healthy way and exercising regularly, you're already on the path toward a longer, healthier life. But there's another step you can take: getting the recommended seven to nine hours of sleep each night. The National Sleep Foundation's 2007 Sleep in America poll FEATURED SPONSOR
reveals that 60 percent of American women aren't meeting their sleep needs. If you fall into this category, a lack of sleep may be affecting your ability to lose weight and keep it off.

Weight loss surgery can be a lifesaver for the properly prepared and motivated patient in the hands of a skilled and caring surgeon.

Emotional overeating is but one causative factor in our current epidemic of obesity. Discovering and resolving the emotional obstacles to healthy weight management is a key step toward success, but once you've achieved that, the sad fact is that your body may or may not cooperate with the effort to lose weight. Metabolic and genetic factors, many of which...

5. To be a "one size fits all" kinda gal.

TEN TRUTHS ABOUT METABOLISM
By Lise Funderburg (from Oprah magazine - Sept2003)

You're doing everything right, and you're still not losing weight. Is
it your metabolism? Can you do anything to get your motor running
faster?

You dream of a metabolism so fast you could burn through a wedge of
chocolate cheesecake or a slab of lasagna just walking the dog. But
wake up and smell the science, honey. The nation's leading
researchers are...
