About a half-hour later something hit her. She turned to me and asked, "Do I want to know how you paid for this? I haven't seen it in the checkbook." I just answered, "no, you don't."

We were about 15 rows back from the stage, on the main floor, close to centered on the stage. We could hear and see everything perfectly. At intermission, she just looked at me with distant eyes and said "absolute heaven!!!"

Every once in a while, I get it right! This was one of them.

Surprised? Nah, I'd say "flabbergasted" comes closer to her expression! She had no clue they were anywhere within 500 miles. After dinner we drove down to the center, and all she saw was a big banner that said "Welcome hockey fans!!" (She doesn't care for hockey at all!!) So we parked and there were lots of well-dressed folks converging on the center, but none of the rowdies she'd expect for a hockey game. She still had no clue. We got to the turnstiles and I handed the lady my tickets. Still no clue! She handed Peanut a program, but it was turned over and upside down. Still no clue!! She turned it over and looked at it and there was a massive intake of air and "ooohhhhhh ...."!!!!

Complete and total astonishment! Several of her friends at church knew, but they didn't tell. No leaks. No clue. It could not have been a better surprise!!

Yes, it IS peaceful! Some day, I plan to live there. I'd do it right now if I had a job there. I always feel so relaxed when we're there.

has anyone started to tell you that you shouldn't lose anymore weight. lately I've been getting this alot. I guess I look smaller than I actually am because of my height but they don't realize that I still weigh alot more than I should. I try to explain this to them but I've gotten to the point where I don't feel like explaining anymore. my aim is to get down to about 170lbs and I think that is still alot of weight for my height. I do understand that they have to get use to the new me but I surely don't need their negative opinions.
