I understand. I used to buy a bag of Lindt chocolates and eat the whole thing at one sitting. Now I can stop after just one. Not everyone gets the dumping syndrome with the RNY, but I do. When I try to eat sweets - chocolate, cookies, cakes, I can only eat a small amount and then my intestines start to growl and I can feel the rumbling and know I don't dare eat any more. If I push it I will get a terrible belly ache and just feel horrible for a couple of hours. It's just not worth it.
But the best part of bypass surgery is the portion control. Your normal stomach doesn't signal full until the food reaches the top. The pouch is made out of the top most portion of the stomach - the part that signals full. So now, with just a small amount of food I get the full signal and know to stop. There's just not room for more and I don't want more.
