I'm not very mobile at work either and I seem to always be hungry at work. I am off 3 days in a row so I try to do some walking on my days off. I have started exercising in the morning. I wake up 45 min earlier and get my work out in. Feels good to start the day that way.
Once you see how the weight starts to come off quicker with exercise you will want to stick with it.

Just saw this msg, so sorry for the delay. I am feeling pretty good actually, but I am counting down the days unti real food can pass my lips...should be about 10 more days! YEAH!!! Yes I stayed 3 nights. I ended up getting the drain because of my previous surgery 22 years ago whenmy spleen was removed. This prvious surgery lend to a decrease in blood flow to the top portion of my (left over) stomach once the pouch was formed. Sode removed the top half of my left over stomach because there wasn't going to be enogh blood flow to guarantee proper healing. Luckily, the drainage always looked good & slowed enough by my discharge day to be removed then. I am really glad it did, because I did NOT want to go home with it!

How are you doing? At first you just get through day to day, after a week or 2 passes you start feeling like a person again. I remember always being so cold..always
needing blankets. But it passes, I also remember sewer mouth breath...but that too passes. Hang in there. Did you say you had a drain? I have read some get them. Not many in my group had them. Glad it is out. I am also glad you got to stay in the hospital a few days as I have read some leave the next day. I think that would have been too soon for me.

My only regret in surgery is not doing it sooner. I feel soooo much better
I am a retired teacher and now am a part time prof at a local community college.
I am married and have an adult daughter who lives near by. My DH and I are building a new house...something we have always wanted to do..not big, just new. It will be an ongoing project for us til we can move in as we are the contractors... hmmm.
