Had my surg may 4th 2009. Did really well comparing myself to other stories heard. Almost wondered if i had surg when it came to eating for a while till i started experimenting with coarser foods and then KNEW something was different. I was down 25 lbs by my first month anniversary. Walking 4 days post op and feeling great. Just hope the WL keeps up. Hard to imagine sucess when you have never tasted it before. Hope it tastes better than what I have been eating the last 20 years

Really thinking of Gastric bypass surg been through all my pre op stuff and just need to push a letter of medical necessity from my pcp to get surg scheduled. I am 5'6'' and weigh 266. I exercise semi regularly, more than most of my thin friends. I am 42 yrs old but like myself and enjoy myself just wish I was healthier. The problem is I LOVE food! I don't know how I could do it with out a stomach. DO you really have less hunger after surg and can you still enjoy food sometimes (like not gluttony but just enjoy a meal) HOw do you deal with the loss? Was the surg worth it with the malabsorption of vitamins? I am so confused, I want to be healthier but I hear all kinds of advice saying don't do it you are not that bad, but then I am doomed to keep "trying" and failing like the past 21 years and wait for diabetes to set in full bloom. Any advice out there from those of you who have walked in my shoes.

Isn't it funny how I can be at least 1 year of being thin and I still can't believe it when ppl call me thin or comment on how thin I am? I still feel fat??? I tell my friend (who also had RNY) "I can't believe I can still feel fat in a size 8???" Funny how your mind can play games with your head. Don't get me wrong i ABSOLUTELY LOVE wearing smaller clothes, being able to exercise and keep up in classes, going to the beach or swim park and not feel like the large CENTER of attention...

Gee went by so quickly. Seems like ages ago I was worrying and fretting. Funny I am now a size 10 but I have the same issues with my apperance I had when I was 275? I don't like my belly fat and now I am just saggy? But I am sooooo much healthier! and I can run soooooo much easier. If you would have ask me a year ago, I would have thought my apperance would have been the thing I thought I would feel best about but I never realized how GOOD it feels being lighter! I physically feel so much...

So many good hearted ppl say " just don't let this not work like so-in-so" and " I hope you don't wast this like ....." I feel like this is sooooo neg! I know they are really trying to encourage me but I don't feel it. It's like they are waiting to use me as a so-in-so bad example? Like I am under the microscope of their scruitiny? Do I have permission to scruitinize their bad habits and give them advice??? It makes me mad. Like I would go through all this just to...

Just a question? I had my R-N-Y on may 4th and did extremely well out of hospital in 2 days walking 1.5 mile in 4 and tolerating food liquids and soft foods well, in small portions of course. I was allowed to eat reg foods as tolerated on june 4th and did really well with that too. I can eat 1/2 cup of cottage cheese or tuna salad no prob. I do have prob with certain things like I ate 2 bites of a hamburger and was in the BR for 1/2 hour I didn't throw it all up just froth? It felt like cramping...
