So tomorrow I'm going back into the hospital to get an endoscopy to find out why I can't drink liquids. They said it could be as simple as an irritated stich or even an ulcer. Whatever they find they will fix and they said I would be feeling better by tomorrow evening. Also - a friend from work that had the surger several years ago said her doctor told her it would be easy for her to digest corn chips/shells. She recommended a tostada (chalupa?), one of the flat and hard corn tortillas with beans and cheese on it. I had pieces of one a couple of times and it was sooooo yummy. Especially with a dab of salsa on top. I've had no problems keeping it down.

I rolled over in bed to answer the phone today and think I re-injured myself!! The rest of the day has SUCKED!! I wish I wish I wish I could get another refill of the pain meds. Anyway, my dr. hasn't mentioned anything about 3 ounces or eating in 30 minutes. However, since I think that 3 ounces is about all I can handle at a time your post makes me feel better...more 'normal.' YAY!

Hey there. I still have some pain from my incisions, but it is getting better. I am more uncomfortable than anything else. It also seems to depend on my pants I am wearing. As for how much I can eat, it varies. I try to stick to the 3 oz they want me to keep to. I got a huge stack of 1oz cups from the hospital that I brought home with me. I fill each one with something different, and use super small baby spoons I got from Ikea to eat it with. I set a timer for 30 minutes and try to take up that whole time to eat. I was told not to eat more than that even if I don't feel full. So I do my best to stick to that unless my cups need washing. So I am sure you are perfectly normal. Hugs! It is good to have a friend who had their surgery the same day as me.
