Unhappy Finally banded-the whole truth about surgery

Hi I am 29-years-old and I was banded Friday morning 3-11-11 @ 7:30am. I was in so much pain after surgery and am still in pain this morning. I can barely lift myself up. My stomach is really the only area that hurts. I am weak because of the strict liquid diet. My husband has helped me so much. Thank God he's here. If I thought I would have been in this much pain I would have thought harder about having the surgery. I am feeling a little better. I am not hungry and I have not thrown up. Just sipping clear liquids here and there.

Will keep you posted. They said I would be able to go to work tomorrow on Monday but there is no way.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I think that when I was considering the band they said a week, but then my surgeon also thought I should have been back after 3 weeks with the RNY and I barely made it at 7 weeks, I still nap on the weekends where before surgery I never did.

It will get better but you need to take time to heal, some people have no pain or very little pain and others are not so lucky.

Good luck.

I am sorry you are in a lot of pain. I know how you feel when I had my rny I thought I would die for the first few days and it was awful for about 10 days then I was fine. Thank god I have had no other problems since the post op pain. I have lost 120 pounds in 10 months and am so thankful for this surgery.

Hi. I know you posted a while ago, but I hope you're feeling better by now. I had the RNY Gastric on 4/20 and little by little I'm feeling better. I couldn't move after surgery. I still am having bad days when I feel nutritionally done and empty, but I have a great nutrionist that comes with the doctor and she has given me such wonderful shakes and fruit drink shakes that it's helping. I'm walking again and my weight is melting off, as it looks like for you, too. Stay strong. You are just on a new path and I may not know you, but I'm proud of you. It's tough. Be well.
