We have changed where the website has been hosted. Previously it has been on a shared server along with many other websites.

• If any one of those websites used up too much computer memory, or server resources, it would make this site slow down.
• If any one of the websites sent spam, or was reported to be sending spam, then all the websites were effected. We have had difficulties in the past with sending emails to AOL and Yahoo. Once we get our new IP address white listed with them, we should have a lot fewer emailing difficulties.
• If our part of the server goes down, the other websites are not effected and vice versa.

We are now on what is called a VPS - Virtual Private Server. Our own segmented piece of a server. We have dedicated memory, and server resources and others that share the server have the same. We have a relatively small site, so I have kept the dedicated resources small, but there should be a noticeable improvement on the website.

However, with any change, there are bound to be teething problems. One issue has been that one person has reported finding it hard to sign in. So please use the contact us form linked at the bottom of the page if there are any issues.

Some depends on the number of users at that exact moment, others depends on your own internet connection. At the moment its the weeeeeee hours of the morning for me (3:20am) and the speed is rather fast. Not many up this unearthly time of the morning in New Zealand.

I have been pushing the refresh on the server utilisation a few times. I noted that it got up to 100% at one moment, but generally its fluxing between 0-50%.

There were a few users missing in the new database, so I reimported them and some user details that had just been updated may have been reverted back to the old system.
