So how do smilies work? How can you add them to your posts? If you right click on the smilies, adn look at the properties, you will see that some have the pathname of smilecentral. That means that every time that you look at a page, the image is being dragged off the smilecentral servers. If their servers are busy at that moment, the page might take a bit longer to download - information from the renewedreflections servers as well as all the way from smilecentral. Our avatars, and our smilies are all stored on teh renewedreflections servers. If you have an image from incredimail, those images are stored locally on your computer. When you send them via an email, the email is actually sending a copy of that smilie as an attachment, not downloading it off the incredimail servers. So if you want to include an image/photo/smilie from your computer, you need to add the image as an attachment. That means that the image gets uploaded to the renewedreflections servers and stored in the database. I personally, can load an image onto the servers, and have it so you can include the image inline in the thread, rather than just as an attachment, if you didnt happen to have the images stored on a website anywhere. The tickerfactory images are all stored/hosted at tickers.tickerfactory.com, and the photobucket ones stored on i80.photobucket.com etc. Hope that helps clarify things |
