Unhappy Doing Weight Loss on my own

My pcp put me on a weight loss and so far i lost 13 lbs. If i lose an additional 50lbs he would have to take me out of wls anyways. But, I was denied wls by my insurance company.

God only knows what's best for me.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Question.
Does your insurance cover WLS?
If it does, is this your first denial?
If both of the above is yes, it is too early to give up, you need to fight your insurance till you get approval.

Sleep on the denial and your PCP's opinion for a couple of days, and then think things through again.

(((((((HUGS))))))) Wishing you the best.

Red face

I was told the regular Avmed ins does cover it but not the county one from my job. They bought the package with several exclusions and wls was one of them. I already found out with my work's ins personnel. I also read it in my ins booklet. So, there goes that idea. But, I have another choice too and that is to change my ins to Cigna which they do cover but until November I can't switch. Meaning that in January 2008 is when I start using the new ins. In the meantime I have to continue with my weight loss. The only problem is that if I lose 50 lbs more then I will get pulled out from wls because I would be weighing only 240 lbs. So, regardless I'll still be losing the weight.

I appreciate your help DocSenae and Lisa. This site is so good for me. Even if i don't get to do it now I still will be a part of this site because i know you gals and everyone else will help throughout the weight loss.

Lol,
