| Overnight fluctuations
Hi I'm new here and hoping for some advice please.
Why is it that my weight can vary by up to 7lb overnight?
I have had a full hysterectomy, so it aint the period thing.
This happens on a regular basis, but just now its depressing me as I have been on a very strict week one diet where by they say you can loose between 10-14lb (I know this isnt always the best but I wanted a boost to get me going). After 3 days I had lost nothing, on day 4 I had lost 5lb, weighed again today (day 5) and put back on 4lb.
Please can someone make sense of this, really fed up with myself.

I do know that hydration plays a big part in temporary fluctuations.

Welcome, first, don't get hung up on the scale. If fluctuations are going to bother you, weigh every couple of weeks.
There are a lot of things that can impact weight, dehydration, sodium, hormones, time of day etc. Never weigh more than once a day and preferably only every couple of weeks.
I do weigh daily, but I don't worry about 2-3 pounds as that is normal fluctuation. I also monitor other items that my scale calculates so I don't just look at the weight.
Again, welcome to the best group on the web!!

Just saying.... | I just saw something either today or yesterday on TV (don't remember what) but it said something like 3.5 pounds a day. come to think of it, it must have been a commercial for a laxative. Granted, we don't eat the same as the majority of people, but there is still weight to it.

Just saying.... | Some us need to way daily, I have water retention problems and if I dont stay on top of it, it can become an issue bigtime, also me weighing daily keeps me a lil more on top of making the right chocies, worse yet hubby is in there most alway s when I weigh, so it keeps honest too lol...so I know many say not to weigh daily , but I feel more in control if I do..and i dont stress over a couple pounds gain , cause yes poo can weigh lol....so for those who weigh daily, dont stress if you gain a little..
